Sakshi Trust "RTI"

Sakshi's focus is to educate and train a large number of citizens on RTI, eventually helping them to use RTI to fight corruption. Sakshi does this by:

1. Research

Studying the structure of corruption in various government offices and therefore evolving the right set of questions to be asked by a citizen from the government department to reduce corruption.

Developing a list of Public Information Officers (PIOs) in various states / districts / departments to whom the RTI applications are to be addressed.

Researching the appeal process for the Information Commission regarding different issues.

2. Training and Support

Training of disempowered communities in slums and rural areas in the use of RTI and providing these communities easy-to-use tools, including model application formats and vernacular support, to help them use RTI to improve the quality of their lives.
