ImageInitial research shows that BMP has budgeted Rs.25.21 crores in 2006-07 for the education of these children. Teaching these students are close to 650 teachers with a favourable teacher student ratio of 1:33. The education department also provides free textbooks, notebooks, uniforms and sports facilities. In spite of this, the pass percentage in some schools is a shocking 10.38%. Indifferent teachers whose attendance is worse than that of the students and corruption involved within the administration of these schools are possibly some of the reasons for this poor performance. Nevertheless, this tragic waste of potential and lives is unforgivable and this is a chance to make life better for these kids.

Sakshi Trust is calling on concerned citizens to participate in its Right to Information for Education (RIE) campaign where you can learn to use the Act to question the education department of your state/district and help change the lives of these children.
