RTI Act was in force in seven states in India before the national RTI Act of 2005. In that time RTI was used very successfully by various individuals. Besides the successes of MKSS and other organisations, success stories of individuals were documented and some are illustrated below. Here is a snapshot of some of the many successful cases of the use of the Right to Information Act applied across a range of public services to ensure that citizens' work gets done.
